We have several ideas for our computer in a flash drive idea that we want to build this summer. Below we discuss some of them.
One idea is that we could put an entire operating system on the flash drive. All the files for the OS would be saved on the flash drive. This option would be the most difficult, but probably the best for actual use. We are not certain, but the OS would likely only run on non-Mac computers. We will probably try this method, becuase it would be. Pretty awesome if it worked.
Aother option is to run individual programs off of the flash drive, instead of a full OS. Tis option would require less space, and it might allow us to run a wider range of programs, ones that are compatible with all computers.
We'll probably try both of these options and see which one we like the best. If they both work famously, perhaps we'll keep going with both. Some day, these could turn into a full fledged product line. We'll just have to see.
