We have several ideas for our computer in a flash drive idea that we want to build this summer. Below we discuss some of them.
One idea is that we could put an entire operating system on the flash drive. All the files for the OS would be saved on the flash drive. This option would be the most difficult, but probably the best for actual use. We are not certain, but the OS would likely only run on non-Mac computers. We will probably try this method, becuase it would be. Pretty awesome if it worked.
Aother option is to run individual programs off of the flash drive, instead of a full OS. Tis option would require less space, and it might allow us to run a wider range of programs, ones that are compatible with all computers.
We'll probably try both of these options and see which one we like the best. If they both work famously, perhaps we'll keep going with both. Some day, these could turn into a full fledged product line. We'll just have to see.
Stick around, because this summer we will be documenting our adventures with both of these.

Some Ideas for Clickege
This summer will be the first summer here at Clickege, and we're wanting to put it to good use. We have several ideas we're wanting to work on this summer, and I wanted to discuss some of them here.
We're wanting to expand our anti-boredom site directory into a full blown website. Just recently, we added the ability to submit a site and this summer we want to turn the site into a directory, were sites can submit there site for free or pay to have their site listed and get added benefits. More information on that later.
We have discussed Clickege Games earlier. If you haven't heard about it, it's basically an awesome collection of games on one site. We hope to bring the best games on the internet into one place.
We have several other ideas too, but they're a little top secret now so we can't talk about them here.

Fixing the Dinosaur Part Two: The Internet
Well, as we mentioned before, we were having difficulties getting the Dinosaur to connect to the internet. At first, we worried that the wifi card in it might have been fried in an electrical storm in which it was present under its past owner.
Gladly, we found out later that this was not the case. The new operating system we had installed was having trouble accessing the wifi card was all. We just hardwired the computer into the internet with a 14 foot cord and downloaded a software modem driver that let us access the wifi card.
After about 3 hours of "patiently" waiting for the download, the wifi card was ready to use and the dinosaur was one step closer to arriving in the modern age.
Stay tuned for part three of fixing the dinosaur!

A Brand New Project!
水禽WaterFowl Systems, Inc.
The programs we develop will run on Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice, Google Docs, Microsoft Web Apps, and possibly more. WaterFowl Systems is planning on offering both paid and free, ad-powered versions of the software, which we hope to begin launching in beta (test) form this summer, slated for a stable late 2011 or early 2012 release.
We will document our adventures here, where we hope you will stick around.

Fixing the Dinosaur Part One: The OS
We are (basically) done renovating the Dinosaur, and we want to discuss the process we took to renovate it. The entire story will probably take a couple of posts, so we're going to discuss it over several posts, starting with this one.
In this post, we discuss installing the OS which we chose to put on our Dinosaur, to replace the 8 year old Windows XP that was running on it before. We chose to install Ubuntu 10.10 because of its speed, lightness (the Dinosaur only has a 40 GB hard drive, so everything needs to be light,) and modern appearance. Because of a problem with a lightning storm with the previous owner, the wifi on the Dino was not working correctly, so we could not install the OS over the air. Instead, we had to order the OS on a CD from Britain (That was the "Royal Mail" we received earlier this month. When the CD finally arrived (after about 8 weeks of waiting) we installed the OS.
Once it was all up and running, we were still having problems connecting by wifi, so we ran a 14 foot cable out the back of our computer and into the wall, as can be seen in the video below. We later do solve the wifi problem, which we will discuss in a future post.

Developing Future
We just got a book that will help us to develop better with HTML and CSS codes. We will also be experimenting with the Palm/HP Ares development system for mobile phones. Stay tuned for more about both of these.

Clickege Games
Clickege's next big project is Clickege Games, an awesome gaming website. We're going to be launching a closed beta of Clickege Games soon. We will document our adventures of developing it on this site. Look forward to it!
